This one day course will take you from having no online presence to having a custom website or blog as you learn how to…
• Configure a web server and register a domain name
• Install WordPress, a free blog / website software application
• Completely customize the look and feel of your blog
• Add custom features to your blog
• Optimize your website for search engines to get more traffic

The course is a high energy class geared for beginners that do not know anything about web programming! It is broken down into two parts. Part one will provide an overview of web programming in XHTML, CSS, and PHP as well as an overview of using Dreamweaver and FTP programs. Part two will teach you how to set up, customize, and manage your blog site. Then, using skills you were taught; you will create your own blog site and get it online with our instructors on hand to guide you all the way. By the completion of the class you will have a live blog site on the internet and all the knowledge you need to manage and drive traffic to your site.

Requirements:
• Laptop computer (rentals are available for a fee of 50.00)

Recommended:
• Dreamweaver CS3 or CS4 (download a free 30 day trial from Adobe)
• Digital images that you have taken for use in your site design
